Beverly Ann Kirby (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Beverly Ann Kirby, 54, of Halfway, MO, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Citizens’ Memorial Care Facility in Bolivar, MO.
Beverly was born August 21, 1964 in Anchorage, Alaska to Chandra Willard Kirby and Sam Kirby, Jr. At a young age, Beverly was diagnosed with cancer, and not given much hope. Through her hard work and determination, Beverly became a 50 year survivor.
Beverly showed her strong will in other ways as well. After a surgery at age 13 left her in a full body cast, she enjoyed riding her bike around the neighborhood. While still in that cast, she participated in a March of Dimes 10k. Beverly held many jobs. She worked at Long John Silver’s for 10 years, as well as Pizza Hut while living in Jefferson City, and McDonald’s after moving to Bolivar.
Beverly had an infectious smile. She had a great love for music, art, and drawing. She especially loved Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She was widely known by her love of animals, and animals loved Beverly right back. She was proud to be a lifelong member of the Polk County Humane Society where she helped animals in need. Beverly was equally cheered to be around people, and never met a stranger her whole life. She fought her fight with strength and a smile. She was truly an inspiration to everyone around her.
Beverly is preceded in death by her grandparents; Sam Kirby Sr. and Audrey Faye Kirby, as well as Ted Willard and Thelma Chandler Willard.
Beverly is survived by her parents; Sam Jr. and Chandra Kirby of Halfway, MO. She is also survived by her brothers; Mark Kirby and wife Paula of Greenback, TN and Joe Kirby and wife Gwen of California, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Polk County Humane Society or Citizens Memorial Health Care Facility Activities Fund.
