Beverly Mahan's Obituary
Beverly Ann Mahan, daughter of Arthur Lee and Shirley J. Devore Stewart, was born August 16, 1949, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, October 6, 2008, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-nine years, one month, and twenty days. On October 11, 1968, she was united in marriage to Larry G. Mahan, and to this union one daughter and one son were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Linda Stewart; and a niece, Kayla Horn. Beverly is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; a daughter, Christy L. Jennings, and her husband, Michael, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Brett A. Mahan, and his wife, Billie, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Scott, Lindsey, Christian, and Cory; a sister, Ellen Horn, and her husband, Kent, of Grovespring, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her special Pekinese dog, “Yipper”; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and attended Lebanon High School. After she and Larry were married, they made their home in the Lebanon community and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Beverly had worked at Wyota Inn Motel, Aldi’s Grocery Store, and at the Vanity Fair Store for several years. In the 1980’s she returned to being a fulltime homemaker and mother. Beverly followed the Catholic faith during her lifetime. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, and taking care of her grandchildren. She also liked going to the horse races, and was very knowledgeable at trivia games. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Private graveside services were held on Thursday October 9, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Lebanon Humane Society. Donations may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
