Billie Clements' Obituary
Billie Wynona (Bigby) Clements passed away in her home on June 4, 2009. Billie was born January 31, 1923 in Garden City, Texas to William A. and Christine (Hanson) Bigby. She attended school in Garden City and Stanton, Texas. Billie was an operator for the first telephone company in Glasscock County. On August 25, 1945, she married William W. Clements, and they spent most of their life in and around the Glasscock County area, farming and ranching. After Bill’s death in 1965, she gave up farming and continued with the ranching operation. Upon retiring in 1972, Billie moved with her mother and son to Wright County, Missouri. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Branson area. She also enjoyed visiting with people, and never met a stranger. In years past, she was an avid CB radio operator, belonging to several area CB clubs. Billie was a thirty-seven year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3260. Billie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, William W. Clements, Jr.; and one brother, James L. Bigby. She is survived by three daughters, Linda S. Casey and husband Robert of Burkburnett, Texas, Brenda D. Long of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Glenda P. “Pattie” Olive and husband Steven of Urbana, Missouri; five grandchildren, Gene Long, Kristie Casey, Robert Casey, Clint Berry, and Justin Thurman; and seven great-grandchildren. Billie was a kind and caring person with a big heart. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday June 8, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Mansfield.
