Bill drove our school bus for several years. My sister and I went to visit him on one of our trips back to Mo. several years ago .He always had a smile to accompany his west Texas personality. Bill Haines was a good and honorable man.

My favorite memory was when Bill Boy brought him to RUIDOSO and we all sat around a fire after eating barbecue. Big Bill, Daddy(Cris), and Bo(Charles Lee) all sat around telling stories about their younger cowboy days. They must have been fearless. I don’t know how they lived to tell the stories.
In spite of growing up hard they never complained about it. All their stories were funny and entertaining. John Wayne had nothing on them.
Their sister, Mildred, was a fun person also.
You will be missed, Big Bill. One of the best men that ever walked the face of this earth. Go rest high on that mountain - you have earned a crown in Heaven. We love you - Tim and Michele
