Billie Wilson (Bolivar) 's Obituary
Billie W. Wilson, age 83 of Bolivar, passed away Friday afternoon, October 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield.
Billie was born on August 24, 1933, in Bolivar, to Emma Ruth (Blecha) and Walter Franklin Wilson. He was their only child. Billie grew up in the Bolivar area and stayed there his whole life, even living on the same land where he parents did. The property has been in the family for at least 83 years. He attended school in Fair Play and graduated in 1952.
In 1956 he married Jeannine Smith, on May 28. Together they raised four daughters. Jeannine passed in 1997.
Billie was saved at an early age, at the Berean Baptist Church, in Bolivar, but was a member of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized on August 26, 2007, at the Sunset Bridge, in Bolivar.
Billie loved farming, and taking care of his cattle. He greatly enjoyed riding his horse on trail rides. More than this, though, he loved his family. Billie was an early riser, and could often be found waiting outside for places to open. However, every morning he always made his way to Ray Pott’s to spend time with the guys, and talk.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Jeannine.
He is survived by four daughters, Sheryl Wilson, of Raytown, Missouri, Phyllis Marszalek, and her husband Bill, of Peculiar, Missouri, Debra Wood, of Bolivar, and Jeannie Brown, and her husband Chuck, of Bolivar; two grandchildren, Brittany Miller, and her husband Blake, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Shawn Wood, of Bolivar.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at the Butler Funeral Home, with Elder Donnie Lane officiating. Burial, in Salem Cemetery, will follow the funeral service.
