Billy Carlson's Obituary
Billy Wayne Carlson, son of Albert and Sina Rowe Carlson, was born May 28, 1931, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, January 22, 2011, in St. John?s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, seven months, and twenty-four days.
On November 20, 1999, he was united in marriage to Luezene V. Fry Couch, and together they shared that last eleven years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Peggy; five brothers, Gussie, Joe, Bertie, Elmer, and Robert; and three sisters, Margie, Elsie, and Elvie.
Billy is survived by his wife, Luezene, of the home; two daughters, Ellen Carlson, and Lorretta Oliver, both of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Billy Carlson, Jr., of Mesa, Arizona, Gary Carlson, of Buckner, Missouri, and Brian Carlson, and daughter-in-law, Carla Carlson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Carlson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Gladys Marke, of Grafton, North Dakota; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and then served his country faithfully in the United States Army from August 25, 1949, until May 31, 1950. After he and Peggy were married, they made their home in Kansas City and lovingly raised their children. Billy worked for the railroad in Kansas City for a number of years, before retiring and moving back to Lebanon. Billy then worked as a television repairman for several years.
Billy was raised in the Baptist faith and then attended the Assembly of God Church. Most recently he had attended Lebanon Church of the Nazarene.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activity was fishing. He also enjoyed watching movies, playing bingo, spending time at the computer, and writing. He greatly enjoyed playing with children and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
