Billy Joe Huskerson (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Billy Joe Huskerson, son of Oather Bailey and Ollie Valentine Huskerson, was born, July 21, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. He departed this life, Sunday, June 10, 2012, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-three.
In 1972 he was united in marriage to Nainah Evelyn Claycomb. Together they shared forty years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Lou Ratzlaff and Dana Huskerson and a sister, Ann.
Survivors include his wife, Nainah Huskerson of the home; four children, Susan O'Dell and husband Michael of Springfield, Missouri, Leslie Taylor and husband Wayne of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Karla Reichmann and husband Wade of Maize, Kansas and Jeff Huskerson and wife Melody of Greeley, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Huskerson of Red Oak, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Bill was raised in Texas and graduated from High School there. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a P.O.W. and received a Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Texas where he operated a cotton farm. He later moved to Kansas where he was in sales for the Hesston Corporation. He then lived in several areas of Missouri before settling in Camdenton. Bill was a member of the Central Ozarks Development, Inc., a longtime chairman of the Sunnyslope Subdivision Association and organizer of the successful effort to get a central wastewater collection system in the Sunnyslope area. He attended the Potter’s House Church in Camdenton.
In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and tinkering in his garage. He loved traveling in his R.V. He followed politics closely and always enjoyed lively debates.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
