On May 14, 1977, he was united in marriage to Katherine Ann Thompson, and to this union three daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a granddaughter, Olivia Lane.
Blaine is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Kathy, of the home; three daughters, Andrea Flores, and her husband, Ajax, Nicole Lane, and her husband, Justin, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Madeline Badgett, of Tyler, Texas; four grandchildren, Blaine and Derrick Flores, and Kaleb and Hannah Lane; his father, Burgess “Bud” Badgett, of Louisburg, Missouri; five brothers, Gregory Badgett, Bud Badgett, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, Gordon Badgett, of Marshfield, Missouri, Randy Badgett, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Michael Badgett, of Centerton, Arkansas; a sister, Kathy McEntee, of Fordland, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended high school there. After he and Kathy were married, they made their home in West Valley, Utah, and lovingly raised their daughters. During this time, Blaine began working as a truck driver. The family moved to Tunas, Missouri, in 1991, and then to Falcon, Missouri, before making their home, near Lebanon. Blaine had worked for Bear Trailer Manufacturing Company and was currently driving for Transfreight.
Blaine was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and faithfully served in the Lebanon Ward.
He enjoyed cooking and liked spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was gruff and tough, but was also selfless, and possessed a big heart. He was always willing to help others and was very straightforward with his feelings.
Blaine was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorial donations may be made to the Curry Cancer Center, and left at the funeral home.
