She enjoyed singing with the Brady Bunch at the area nursing homes, and she loved to sing the old-time gospel hymns and writing stories about her life experiences in the Ozarks. Several of her stories were featured in Over the Ozarks in the Springfield News-Leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; a grandson, Alan Blevins; her parents, Lloyd and Florine Silvey; and two brothers-in-law, Dick Mitchiner and L.D. Boyce.
