Bob Wommack (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Robert Dean “Bob” Wommack, son of the late Floyd and Dorothy (Wiseman) Wommack was born on February 3, 1940 in Elkland, MO, and departed this life on April 20, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. At the time of his passing he was 78 years, 2 months, and 16 days of age.
Bob was reared in the Elkland, MO area and attended Mt. Harmony Elementary School, Elkland High School for two years, and then transferred to Buffalo High School for his Junior and Senior years. While in school, he met Sara Belle Evans. The were united in marriage on August 28, 1959 and to this union four children were born, all of whom survive him. Bob went to work for Southern Supply for a short time before he began his career with Springfield Public Schools. He worked in the warehouse delivering mail and groceries to all the schools. He knew exactly which school to go to for the best food, and they always had a plate ready for him when he got there. He retired in 1994 after serving the school system for 30 years. Bob was saved at a young age at Center Point Southern Baptist Church in Elkland, MO where he became a member and later served as an ordained deacon for many years. He was currently an active member of Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Buffalo, Mo. He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, playing ball, and counting his cows and calves. Bob and Sara Belle loved going on adventures with each other, especially to Alaska. He loved to travel, as long as you weren’t taking him to the beach, although he did enjoy hunting for shells and shark teeth.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sara Belle of the home; one son, Greg & wife Debbie Wommack of Buffalo, MO; three daughters, Cynthia & Clayton Russell of Stilwell, OK, Shelly & Terry Dykes of Columbia, MO, and Carri & Joe Kjar of Buffalo, MO; one sister, Janet & husband Allen Gott of Halfway, MO; nine grandchildren, Amber & husband Matt Bremer, Lance & wife Erin Dykes, Matt & wife Tessa Wommack, Seth & wife Kassie Wommack, Sara & husband Mitchell Baldwin, Grant Spoering, Evan Wommack, Mallory Kjar, and Riley Kjar; five great-grandchildren, Madelynn Wommack, Bella Wommack, Reagan Bremer, Kensley Dykes, and Kaylee Wommack; and nieces and nephews, Richard Gott, Rex Gott, Randy Gott, Teresa Owens, Vickie Prokop, Kenny Evans, and Scott Evans who enjoyed spending time with Uncle Bob. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
