Bobby Franks' Obituary
Bobby Gene Franks, son of Jowers and Myrtle Bowling Franks, was born November 2, 1938 in Clifton, Tennessee.  He departed this life Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-one years, three months, and one day.
Bobby was united in marriage to Sharon Jones and to this union five children were born.  On April 7, 1971, Bobby was married to Linda Schertz and together they have shared the past thirty eight years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary.
Bobby is survived by his wife Linda of the home; his children, Bobby Franks of Springfield, Missouri, Vickie Wolgast of Olathe, Kansas, Debbie Atwood and Darry Franks, both of Yakima, Washington, Becky Christenson of Murietta, California, Sherri French of San Diego, California, and David Franks of Medford, Oregon;  seven grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring after twenty years of service.   He moved to the Mansfield area in 1977 where he would spend the rest of his life.
Bobby was a member of the Norwood VFW Post #3770 as well as the Eagles Club in Ava.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Bobby was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield, Missouri.  NO formal visitation is scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield.
