Bobby Jacobs' Obituary
Bobby Joe Jacobs, son of Fred and Rowena McClure Jacobs, was born March 8, 1939, in Stoutland, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, October 30, 2009, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, seven months, and twenty-two days. On October 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty June Young, and to this union one daughter was born. He was preceded in death by his parents; and twin brothers. Bobby is survived by his wife, Betty Young, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Jennifer Jacobs, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Margaret Lawson, of the State of California, and Kathleen Bruce, and her husband, Bob, of the State of Washington; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Stoutland community and then moved with his family to Lebanon, where he graduated from Lebanon High School. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Army Special Forces for four years and was stationed in both Korea and Japan. He then served eight years in the Army Reserves. After being honorably discharged from the military, he returned to Lebanon, Missouri where he and Betty made their home and lovingly raised their daughter. Bobby had worked as a welder at Lowe Boats for several years and also was a skilled electrician in television and radio repair. Bobby was raised by Christian parents, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of nine and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon. He enjoyed reading his Bible daily and talking for hours about his Savior. He was a fitness fanatic and did one hundred pushups and setups daily for the last fifty years. He liked walking and did so no matter what the weather condition. He also was an herbalist and only took earth grown medicines. He was a perfectionist about his yard and he and Betty liked to take rides through the country gravel roads. He was an intelligent man, an avid reader, and was well informed and knowledgeable in lots of subjects. Bobby was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m at the Stoutland Cemetery. Visitation is Monday November 2, 2009 at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
