Bobby McGinnis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Bobby Gene McGinnis, son of Chester and Velma Boyer McGinnis, was born October 13, 1932, near Orrick, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, March 12, 2012, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, four months, and twenty-nine days.
On May 20, 1955, he was united in marriage to Leah Jean Kreglinger, and they shared the last fifty-six years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Woodrow McGinnis; and three sisters, Eytole Bruns Elliot, Edith Bellis, and Imogene Bruns.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Leah, of the home; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy McGinnis, of Independence, Missouri, and Marcella McGinnis, of Grain Valley, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Orrick, Missouri community, where he graduated from high school. He entered the United States Army National Guard as a young man, and served his country faithfully from January 23, 1951, until December 26, 1953. After he and Leah were married, they made their home in the Kansas City, Missouri area where Bobby worked for Western Electric in Independence, Missouri. They moved to the Lake of the Ozarks for a short time before making their home in Dallas, Texas for several years. Bobby continued to work for Western Electric in Dallas, until he and Leah returned to Missouri, where he was a supervisor for the Zenith Corporation until retiring. In 1994, they moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and enjoyed their retirement years. Bobby also worked for Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Lebanon for a short time.
Bobby followed the Baptist faith throughout his life.
In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, boating, looking at cars of all kinds, searching for antiques, and really liked music. He also had a great love for animals.
Bobby was a loving husband, who always wanted the best for his wife, and was a very patriotic gentleman. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
