Bobby G. Pruitt (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Bobby Glen Pruitt was born May 2, 1941 in Lebanon, Missouri to Clifford Pruitt and Imo Carroll Pruitt. He passed into eternal rest on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Harry S. Truman V. A. Hospital. At the time of his passing he was eighty-two years, four months and thirteen days.
He was raised in Lebanon and attended Lebanon High School. Following high school, Bobby enlisted in the United States Army, Air Corp Division, where he faithfully served his country. He was stationed in France and other bases in Europe, as well as Vietnam and Ethiopia. After his departure from the Army, Bobby used his military clearance to deliver freight to Mexico and Canada. He then worked in large equipment repair and operation. His love of travel and all things mechanical combined in a career as an over-the-road truck driver.
Besides his beloved home state of Missouri, Bobby lived in Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. He traveled the lower forty-eight plus Alaska and worked on the Alaska pipelines, as well as spent time in Canada and Mexico. For the past twenty years, he has been living in Lebanon where he has been a heavy equipment operator.
He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Whitehead on December 10, 1974.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his brothers, Dales, Clifford and James; his sisters, Barbara Massey and Sharon Oursbourn. He is survived by his children; Marcene Dismang and husband Randy, of Auxvasse, Missouri, Alva Pruitt and his wife Carolyn of Lebanon, Missouri, Terry Pruitt and wife Barb, of Glen Burnie, Maryland and Bobbie Pruitt of Daytona Beach, Florida; many grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren. Bobby attended the Cowboy Church in Lebanon. He loved animals, especially horses, donkeys and mules. He enjoyed gardening and being outside enjoying the Missouri Ozarks. He also enjoyed “Interesting finds”. Whether it be trinkets, or small historical towns, he enjoyed learning more about them.
He loved his grandchildren most of all. They brought him joy and happiness and he looked forward to the time he could be with them.
Bobby was a man with many, many stories to tell about his adventures from all over the world. He was knowledgeable about a lot of topics and had a good sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial has been established to Claws and Paws and donations may be made through the funeral home.
