Bonita Kay Saunders (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Bonita Kay Saunders, daughter of Clarence and Ola Jean Green Feeney, was born April 12, 1952, in Monett, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, eight months, and eight days.
Bonita is survived by two daughters, Heather Saunders, of Lebanon, Missouri, and April Werner, of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren; her parents, Clarence and Ola Jean Feeney, of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Jon Feeney, of out of state; two sisters, Linda Barnett, of Springfield, Missouri, and Deanna Chaffin, of Rogersville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Monett, Missouri, and then moved with her family to Oklahoma, where she graduated from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma High School in the Class of 1970. She then moved to California where she attended Pepperdine University. Through the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her children. She eventually moved to Lebanon, Missouri and made her home.
Bonita had made her profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of the Conway Church of Christ. She had followed her father’s ministry through the years.
She liked to dance and enjoyed visiting with her friends. She was a gifted seamstress, enjoyed sharing her creations with others, and liked doing counted cross stitch projects and quilting. She also greatly loved music. She had a very generous heart and a very vibrant personality. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Bonita was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during lifetime.
