I didn't work side by side with Braxton on a daily basis, but I worked around him a handful of times while covering overtime on his shift. Let me tell you, he knew how to leave his mark in a positive way. We spent quite a few nights talking and joking. Even when we weren't working around each other, if he saw me, he'd always make a point to say hi and tell me to have a good night.
In a job like ours, you get a good sense of a person's character, and Braxton was the kind of person who made those around him feel welcome. My heart breaks for his family as they navigate a loss that words can't truly describe.
In these sad times, I'm glad to have those positive memories to look back on and smile about. I'll always remember him as a genuinely good guy who made a lasting impression on the people he met.
