Brenda Kay Black (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Brenda Kay Black, daughter of William and Norma Ward Rogers, was born March 25, 1963, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, four months, and twenty-six days.
She was united in marriage to Douglas R. Black and they shared several years.
She was preceded in death by her father; and two sisters, Barbara McMullen, and Carol Angst.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Douglas, of the home; a daughter, Cheyenne Appleton, and her husband, Aaron, of Elkland, Missouri; five sons, Bobby Nimmo, of Kansas City, Missouri, Daniel Ogle and Amanda Borders, Bradley Ogle, Matthew Black, and his wife, Sharla, and Aaron Black, all of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her mother, Norma Rogers, of Lebanon, Missouri; six brothers, Jerry Rogers, Rick Rogers, Gary Rogers, Larry Rogers, Terry Rogers, and Bub Rogers, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon, and then lived all of her life in the Lebanon area. She was a devoted homemaker and a loving mother to her children. She had worked at Independent Stave Company, which is now Missouri Cooperage, for over ten years. She had also worked at the Lunch Box and Taylor Dairy Joy before going to work as a seamstress at Tracker Marine for the last year and one half.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to the river, driving her Jeep and was always on the go. She liked going to rock concerts and particularly loved REO Speedwagon. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 23 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery near Eldridge, Missouri.
