Brenda Kay Henson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Brenda Kay Henson, daughter of Howard “Doc” and Hazel O’Quinn Rhoads, was born January 1, 1957, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, January 18, 2020, in Webco Manor, in Marshfield, Missouri, from complication of Alzheimer’s, at the age of sixty-three years, and seventeen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kyle Henson; and a brother, David Rhoads.
Brenda is survived by Gary Henson, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Shane Ellis, of Joplin, Missouri, and Reggie Ellis, of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Joshua and Chole; a brother, Bruce Rhoads, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from high school. Except for fifteen years that she lived in Joplin, Missouri, she lived most of her life in Lebanon. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, she worked for Wonder Bread Company in Joplin and became the store manager. She also worked as a seamstress for the H. D. Lee Company for a time.
Brenda professed her faith in Christ early in her life in Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon and was active in various churches through the years. That included the Nazarene Church and the Christ Church in Oronogo, Missouri.
She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and cooking, especially preparing special meals for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
Visitation for Brenda Kay Henson will be 6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri,
Under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Burial will be at a later date in Dotson Cemetery near Lebanon, Missouri.
Memorial contributions to Dotson Cemetery may be made through the funeral home.
