Brenda Post's Obituary
Brenda Joe Post, daughter of Warren R. and Joan Marie Marshall Robinson, was born January 7, 1948, in Cadillac, Michigan. She departed this life Friday, December 4, 2009, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, ten months, and twenty-seven days. Brenda and Mark Laird Post shared the last nineteen years as husband and wife. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband. Brenda is survived by her husband, Mark, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Rene Hegje, and her husband, Randy, of Sacramento, California; three sons, William Daniel Darrel, and his wife, Genie, of Sacramento, California, Curtis Darrel, and his wife, Kathy, of Reno, Nevada, and Kelly Darrel, and his wife, Susan, of Kearney, Missouri; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marshall Robinson, and his wife, Debbie, of Bremerton, Washington, and Warren Robinson, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; three sisters, Corale Berry, Sandra Jochim, and Patricia Robinson, all of Sacramento, California; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Michigan and then moved with her family to California, where she graduated from Rio Linda High School. She then attended college for a couple of years. Brenda and her first husband made their home in Sacramento and lovingly raised their family. Throughout the years, in addition to being a devoted homemaker, Brenda also worked in the mortgage business. In 1992, she and Mark moved to Ottawa, Canada where she worked as the administrative assistant to the United States Ambassador. In 1997, she and Mark made their home in Smithfield, Virginia. In 2007, after retiring, they moved to Lebanon, Missouri. Brenda had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Christian faith. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where her favorite activities were playing golf, skiing, ice skating, and riding motorcycles. She was proactive in the Harley-Davidson Owners Group, helping to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She was a beautiful woman, who liked staying fit and particularly enjoyed doing aerobic exercises. She was a very likable person whose smile and beautiful eyes drew people to her. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends will live on forever. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 12, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will follow the service under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
