Brenda Gail Skidmore (Humansville)'s Obituary
Brenda Gail Skidmore, 66, passed away on June 1, 2025, in her home in Humansville, MO. She was born on March 16, 1959, in Wellington, Kansas, to John Robert Jackson and Patricia May (Wilson) Jackson. Brenda had a wonderful childhood growing up on a farm and spending time at her grandparents’ place, where she enjoyed playing with her siblings and many cousins. It was during these early years that she developed a deep love for all animals, both great and small. Brenda graduated from Humansville High School in 1977 and remained friends with several of her classmates throughout her life. She married Brent Skidmore in May 1978, and together they had one son, Jesse Julian Skidmore. Brenda loved the great outdoors, including walking with her beloved dogs, watching sunrises and sunsets, fishing, and spending time with her two granddaughters. She was also an avid mushroom hunter. Brenda cherished time with her aunts, uncles, and cousins and maintained strong connections with her extended family. She found peace and joy in tending to flowers and feeding hummingbirds. Throughout her life, Brenda wore many hats. She was a homemaker, former bank teller, veterinary assistant, and dedicated caretaker of veterans. For many years she worked with her sister Gayla and brother-in-law Leland in Collins, MO at Smitty’s Fuel Center. Most importantly, she was the primary caregiver for her beloved parents for the past 6 years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and proud aunt. Brenda will be remembered for her selflessness, strength, and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed by her family and many dear friends. Brenda is survived by her parents, John and Patricia Jackson of Humansville, MO. Her son, Jesse Skidmore (Megan) of Flemington, MO and granddaughters Audrey Skidmore and Adeline Skidmore.
