Brenda E. True (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Brenda Elaine True was born September 21, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Melford and Anna Whitworth Chapman. She departed this life Saturday, October 12, 2024 in her Lebanon, Missouri home at the age of seventy-one years and twenty-one days.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her daughters, Tonya Beaty of Kirksville, Missouri and Stephanie Blacksmith of Florida; her son, Steven True of Indiana; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandy Ammons; a nephew, Lance Boardman; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melford and Anna; her son, Grant Blacksmith; her sister, Linda Chapman; and her brother, Larry Chapman.
Brenda grew up in Missouri and at the age of fifteen, she was fostered in Queen City, Missouri where she would graduate high school. Following high school, she was employed for twenty-three years at the Hollister Corporation. She then moved to Lebanon where she was employed at the Dr. Michael Montgomery Optometry office.
Brenda was raised in church and her faith was in Jesus Christ. She was a member at Bear Creek Community Church. She loved music and frequently sang at her church, as well as other area churches.
On June 6, 2002, she was united in marriage to Michael True. They have enjoyed twenty-two years of happiness and wonderful memories.
In her spare time, Brenda loved raising flowers and beautiful roses. She was talented in art and painting was a joy for her. She had a gift of visiting with people and being a friend they could count on and trust. Words cannot adequately express the impact she has had on her family and so many others.
Brenda loved her family so much and was a loving wife, devoted mother and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured.
