Brent Clark Shearer 's Obituary
Brent Clark Shearer, son of Lloyd Lewis and Fern Irene (Campbell) Shearer, was born on June 23, 1956 in Wilsey, Kansas. He departed this life surrounded by his family in his home near Seymour, Missouri at the age of fifty-six years and would have turned 57 in twenty days.
Born and raised in Wilsey, Brent graduated in 1975 and became a crop farmer. He had a natural talent in farming and won several awards for his corn. He moved to the Seymour area and farmed the surrounding hillside. Hunting coons, fishing or the countless hours in the field, outdoors was where Brent was at peace. On October 1, 2005, he married Dawn Michelle Turnbough.
Brent believed in God and talked with Him on his tractor as he ran a many an acre. He enjoyed the simple things of life and took time to be there for those he loved. A big man with a heart to match, Brent loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother James Shearer; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Brent is survived by his wife Dawn Michelle (Turnbough) Shearer of the home; his sons Edmond Shearer and wife Theresa of Kansas City, Kansas and Steven Menter of Seymour, Missouri; his daughter Carrie Haywood of Seymour, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; his sisters Lois Miller and husband Malcolm of Harvest, Alabama and Lavon Vossen and husband Ray of Topeka, Kansas; as well as a host of other dear family and friends.
Brent Shearer was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for all who knew and loved him.
