I'm sorry to hear of Brit's passing. I wish condolences to his family.
I met Brit in middle school and we instantly became good friends. He had the best sense of humor and a definite ornery streak about him I loved. I have a lot of fond memories with him that I have always cherished.
Brit took me to my first concert at Sandstone Amphitheater where we saw The Fugees. That experience ignited my love for live music. I will forever be grateful to him for giving me that.
When I think back through the years, my favorite memory of all was when our youngest brothers played baseball together. The year that the team won the state championship and went on to the nationals. We all took a tour bus to Indianapolis to watch them play and were able to tour the Indianapolis 500 race track. An unbelievable experience and to have with my friend by my side.
Brit was actually the first one to ever give me my first puff off a cigarette at the drive in movies. Where some might scoff at this, it was 90’s and cigarettes were only on their way out of being cool…so we were still “totally awesome” in our own right. Bad habits and challenging authority here and there were just part of our make up. But, he was really, really good people. He was a caretaker. He was a protector. He was a really good friend. He never weighed more than a minute but he had our backs and was part of so many chapters of my childhood.
There will always be a reserved part in my heart for Brit, Brit.
I'm so sorry for his family's loss. For his beautiful girls, I am so sorry. I know he will be missed tremendously and hope all of his good lives on in you forever.
