Bruce Coday (Hartville)'s Obituary
Bruce Evan Coday, son of Larry Joe Coday and Wilma May Long, was born November 12, 1961 in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life in his home in Hartville, surrounded by family, at the age of fifty-eight years, eight months, and twenty-two days.
Bruce is preceded in death by parents and his son, Ricky McCanless.
He is survived by his loving wife Vicki, of the home; his three children, Trevor McCanless, Victoria Delcour and her husband Clayton, and Tawny McCanless, all of Hartville, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, Hunter, Ella, Payton, Wesley, Braylee, Devon, and Riley; two sisters, Loretta Pyatt and her husband Dean and Shandalyn Dickinson; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many caring friends.
Bruce was raised in the Hartville area and graduated from Hartville High School in 1980. On August 5, 1995 he married Vicki and they have been together ever since. He worked for several places throughout his life, but most notably he worked for Winston Farr and worked for him for over 25 years. After his father passed away, Bruce took over Coday’s Septic Tank Service.
Bruce was a working man, but when it came to play, he loved to hunt, go giggin’, and grabbin’. When Bruce and his friends went to the river, he would be the one to set up and start the bon fire. In his spare time, he really enjoyed hopping in his truck and finding a good dirt road to drive down. When he was home in the evenings, he enjoyed sitting down and watching Westerns with his little dog Lily sitting in his lap. He had a noticeable laugh that was absolutely contagious and got everyone laughing along with him. He was the go-to guy for anything and he would help anyone without a second thought. Most importantly, Bruce loved his family with all his heart. He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend. We celebrate his wonderful life and will always cherish the many happy memories he created.
No formal visitation is scheduled and friends may call at their convenience. A memorial has been established and may be mailed to the Holman-Howe Funeral Home at PO Box 236, Hartville, Missouri 65667.
