Bruce MacDonald (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Bruce Moran MacDonald, son of William Charles and Dora Gwendolyn Moran MacDonald, was born February 2, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa. He passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at his home in Lebanon, Missouri. He was eighty years, ten months and two days of age.
Bruce was adopted as an infant and grew up in Scranton, Iowa. He graduated from Scranton High School in the class of 1964. Following high school, he served in the United States Army where he faithfully served his country.
He grew up on a farm and enjoyed riding horseback and learning about farm life. He was a true cowboy and had a passion for everything related to being on the farm. As a result of his experiences and knowledge, his career took him all over the country as he worked as a cowboy and ranch hand.
On May 22, 1999, Bruce was united in marriage to Deanna Goman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna; his children, Michelle Gibson and her husband Verlin, Jennifer Stockton and her husband Grant, Holly Rae Jones and her husband Levi, Shance Moran MacDonald and Tyler Alan MacDonald and his wife Ashley; his grandchildren, McKayla, Cody, Deacon, Bronson, Tobey, Josiah, Hannah, Milly and Pierce; his brother, Charles MacDonald; and a nephew, Jeffrey MacDonald.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bruce was a member of Dove Bible Church and loved God with all his heart.
He was a member of the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans) and was a valued and respected horse trainer. On February 6, 2025, Bruce was inducted into the Greene County (Iowa) Athletic Hall of Fame, class of 2025 for holding a state record in track from his high school days.
Bruce will be remembered as a devoted husband, cherished father and grandfather and brother. His memory will be treasured in the hearts of family, friends and the lives he touched.
Services will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Dove Bible Church, 30966 Old Hwy. 5, Lebanon, MO.
