Bruce Robbins' Obituary
Bruce Robbins, son of Luther D. and Virginia Williams Robbins, was born September 30, 1927 in Pinora, Georgia. He departed this life Tuesday, January 9, 2007 in Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, three months and ten days. On December 12, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada he was united in marriage to Sherma “Louise” Rawson. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sheryle Robbins; two sons, Allen Neill and Billy Johnson; three sisters and one brother. Survivors include three sons, Craig Robbins of Tacoma, Washington; Rick Neill and wife Karen of Kansas City, Missouri, and Danny Neill of Los Angeles, California; a daughter-in-law, Patty Johnson of Downey, California; a brother-in-law, James S. Brown and wife Jean of Dathne, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. Bruce was raised in Florida and New York. After leaving his parents’ home, he lived in various locations until he joined the Merchant Marines, where he served during World War II. After his children were born, the family moved to California where he lived until he retired to the lake area in 1984. He worked as a steamfitter welder and retired from the United Association of Steamfitters, Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He and his wife owned Porter Mills Springs Resort for a short time after moving to the lake. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and the recreational activities the lake provided. He enjoyed drinking coffee and spending time with his family and friends. Bruce was a loving father and grandfather and was a caring neighbor and friend. We will cherish the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
