Buell "Faye" Howe (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Buell “Faye” (Turner) Howe was born June 11, 1929, in Elkland, Missouri to Joseph Richard and Lettie (Daulton) Turner. She passed away on Tuesday June 27, 2023, at the age of 94 years and 16 days of age at Cox South Medical Center after a brief illness.
Faye grew up in the Buffalo area where she attended Engle & Chicago schools. She was one of eight children. She would often laugh and tell stories about her childhood. Her sense of humor was enjoyed by many. She had a feisty personality and a contagious laugh.
Faye married William Arthur Howe on December 21, 1952, and to this union two children were born. She was a homemaker most of her life where she doted on her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and she often canned her own food. No one ever left her house hungry. Many can recall the hours spent playing Rook and other games around her kitchen table.
Faye was saved at the age of 13 at South Mt. Pleasant Church and joined North Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in November 1946 where she remained a faithful member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Arthur Lynn Howe, three brothers: Billy Joe, James Monroe and Bobby Wayne, three sisters: Jewell Chloe Adams, Wanda Mae Skinner and Betty Jane Rogers, brother-in-laws: Cecil Adams, Orlan Hale, Harold Rogers and Vinis Skinner, sister-in-laws: Margaret Turner, June Turner and Reba Turner. Faye is survived by her daughter Debra Faye Jasper and husband Jimmie, a daughter-in-law Sharon Howe, a sister, Evelyn Hale, grandchildren: Terri Reed and husband Nathan, Jason Jasper, Darren Jasper and wife Shelly, Tim Jasper and wife Lindsey, Amanda McNamer and husband Michael, and Becca Holloway, great-grandchildren: Coltin Winkler, Dalton Winkler and wife Hannah, Blaine Jasper, Corbin Jasper, McKenna Reed, Tenley Jasper, Chais Jasper and Cohen, Eden, Haven and Laelyn McNamer, great-great-grandchildren: Brecken and Brynley Winkler and many other beloved family members and friends that will all greatly miss her.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be given to Macedonia Cemetery, at O'Bannon Bank.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Cantlon-Otterness and Viets Funeral Home with Dennis Skinner and Dusty Armstrong officiating, burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. Escorts are Jason Jasper, Darren Jasper, Tim Jasper, Nathan Reed, Blaine Jasper, Corbin Jasper, Colton Winkler, and Dalton Winkler, honorary escorts are McKenna Reed, Tenley Jasper, Chais Jasper, Brecken Winkler, and Brynley Winkler. Visitation will be held the evening prior, Friday June 30, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
