Burley Louise Shivers (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Burley Louise Shivers, daughter of the late Goss & Bessie (Sandage) Piles, was born on April 20, 1929. She departed this life on April 30, 2023, at the age of ninety-four years and ten days.
On November 15, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Calvin Shivers and to this union two children were born. Together they shared sixty-four years of marriage before his passing on July 26, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her twin sister, Purley Ash & husband Lenford.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda and husband Doyle Stamper of Ulman, Missouri; son, Randy and wife Sandy Shivers of Camdenton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dusty and wife Christina Stamper, Dana and wife Deserae Stamper, Casey and wife Laura Shivers and Cody Shivers; six great-grandchildren, Tristen Stamper, Mesa Stamper, Gunner Stamper, Brendan Silba, Alexis Stamper and Heston Shivers; and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many friends and other family members who will truly miss her.
Burley was born in Lebanon, Missouri and grew up in Montreal, Missouri, attending school in Stoutland.
Burley made a profession of faith and was a member of Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church in Montreal, Missouri.
In her spare time, Burley enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading her bible, and traveling, especially to go see the mountains. She also truly loved her farm, going to Blue Grass Events and cherished every moment spent with her family.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m., in the church. Interment will follow the services in Montreal Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church and left at the funeral home.
