C. Lucille Welch (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Clair Lucille Welch, daughter of George and Verna Moore Farris, was born November 13, 1935 near Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on February 11, 2017 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years, one month and twenty-eight days.
On June 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to James Welch, and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael James Welch; daughter, Jeanette Scheland; two brothers, Junior and Clarence Farris; five sisters, Betty Hilliard, Ida Mae Pastian, Ellen Seal, Dorothy Farris and an infant sister.
Lucille is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, James, of the home; daughter, Ruth Ridenhour and husband, Michael, of Licking, Missouri; son, Jim Welch of State of Alabama; three grandchildren, Miranda McCourt and husband, John, of Long Beach, California, Claireesa Ridenhour of Kirksville, Missouri and Samantha Tabb and husband, Josh, of Ft. Riley, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Kendall Lucille Edwards, Peyton James Tabb, and Charlie McCourt; sister, Ethel Goss; as well as several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised near Mansfield. She graduated from Ava High School in the Class of 1953. She received her Master’s Degree in education from Drury University at age 50.
Lucille attended Green Hills Baptist Church in Lebanon. She enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, spending time with her 3 grandkids, playing with the great-grandkids and making everyone around her happy. She always wanted to be around family, they were always the most important thing to her. She was a wonderful wife, mom and granny. We loved her very much.
