Carl Eugene Cones, Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Carl Eugene Cones, Sr., son of Harvey Marion and Hazel Vera Anderson Cones, was born June 26, 1932, near Norwood, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, February 11, 2011, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, seven months, and sixteen days.
On June 6, 1969, he was united in marriage to Druscilla Gayle Harrell, and they shared the last forty-one years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Betty June, Laverne, Lois, and Louise.
Carl is survived by his wife, Druscilla, of the home; two sons, Carl E. Cones, Jr., and his wife, Julie, and Bill Cones, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Vera Hodges, and her husband, J.R., of Bates City, Missouri, Lynn Cones, and Angela Rushing, and her husband, Ryan, all of Lebanon, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Cones, of Clovis, California; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Norwood and Seymour, Missouri area, and graduated from Seymour High School. He then made his home in Kansas City, Missouri, for several years before moving to California. He lived in California for twenty years, and then he and Druscilla came to Lebanon, Missouri. Throughout his life, Carl worked as an automobile and tractor mechanic. Later, he worked as a door greeter at the Lebanon Wal Mart Store for several years.
In his spare time he enjoyed working on various things for other people, and liked visiting and talking with people, as he was a very friendly individual. He enjoyed camping, and having time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
