Carl R Green (Urbana)'s Obituary
Carl Russel Green, son of the late Alfred and Mae Green was born on December 6, 1923 near Urbana, Missouri. He passed peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on May 30, 2018.
Carl was raised in Urbana and graduated from Urbana High School in 1941. After school he began working with his father on the family farm. He later joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in February of 1946 after proudly serving his country during World War II. After his time of service, he was united in marriage to Ruby Alene Ethridge on September 21, 1946 and to this union three children were born. They made their home near Urbana where he farmed and worked his entire life. He retired from Contel Telephone Company. He was a longtime member of the Southern Baptist faith where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved spending time with his family and was happiest when everyone was at his home for any type of celebration.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; and an infant grandson, Jeremy Paul Bybee. He is survived by his wife Ruby of 71 years; children, Ruthie (Gene) Bybee of Springfield, MO, Jackie (Terri) Green of Vian, OK, and Carla (Mike) Green of Nixa, MO; grandchildren, Scott (Robbyn) Bybee, Mark (Angie) Bybee, Jennifer (Brad) Lotz, Shanda (Danny) Boling, Melissa Mullins; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wendell Green of Buffalo, MO. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
