Carl L. Miller (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Carl Leonard Miller, age 80 of Springfield, Missouri departed this life on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home in Springfield.
Carl was born on December 12, 1933 the son of Alvie Miller and Lucille (Thomas) Miller. Carls mother Lucille passed away when Carl was very young. Alvie was united in marriage to his second wife Ola who filled the role as mother to Carl.
Carl served his country in the United States Army, following his service he was a Steel Worker at Paul Mueller in Springfield for most of his career. Carl was a member of the Yeakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Springfield.
He was a man of many talents and interests. Carl enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cooking on “Pa Pa’s Smoker” and of course eating that which was cooked. He played card games with his family and enjoyed playing chess with his friend of over 50years, Bob Fischer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Alvie Miller, Lucille Miller, and Ola Miller, his three sisters; Olive, Rosalie and Nancy, and his son-in-law; Tommy Follin.
Carl is survived by his wife; Billie Miller of the home, two sons; Mark Miller of Springfield and Mike Miller of Springfield, two daughters; Carla L. Follin of Humansville, Missouri and Cindy L. Groves of Humansville, Missouri, two sisters; Bonnie Guilliams and her husband Jack of Enid, Oklahoma and Stella Skinner and her husband Junior or Independence, Missouri, one brother; Kenny Miller and his wife Sharon of Deep Water, Missouri, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl will be missed.
