Carl VonAllmen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ronald Carl VonAllmen, son of Wayne and Betty Geneva McCracken VonAllmen, was born April 4, 1957, in West Plains, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in his home, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, two months, and one day.
On March 3, 2009, he was united in marriage to Leslie McGuire, and they shared the last nine years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Michael and Kenneth VonAllmen; and two sisters, Brandy and Terri VonAllmen.
Carl is survived by his wife, Leslie, of the home; a daughter, Melissa Grendell, and her husband, Zach, of West Plains, Missouri; a step-daughter, Summar Vaughn, and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-sons, Bobby Arnold, and his wife, Rebekah, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Johnathan Eade, and his wife, Brandie, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kathryn, Promise, Sullivan, Londyn, Riley, Jaycob, Uriah, and Seven; a brother, Doug VonAllmen, of West Plains, Missouri; a sister, Pammie Jones, and her husband, Mark, of Tipton, Oklahoma; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in West Plains, Missouri, and graduated from West Plains High School. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Army in 1975. At the age of nineteen, he moved to Texas where he became a truck driver. He continued to work as a truck driver for most of his life. Later, he and Leslie made their home in Springfield, Missouri.
Carl was saved, baptized and became a member of the Truth Tabernacle in Springfield, Missouri in 2009.
He enjoyed watching Western movies, and collected antique toys. He liked talking on the CB radio where he was known by his handle, “Lil Joe”. He loved wearing cowboy boots and hats, with Hawaiian shirts. He enjoyed Corvettes, making doll furniture, and being ornery.
Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
