Carl W. Pieratt's Obituary
Carl W. Pieratt, son of John Morton “Mort” and Rebecca Wilson Pieratt, was born February 3, 1912, in Parker, Kansas. He departed this life Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in Lake Regional Health System, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety-four years, three months, and twenty-seven days. On August 2, 1937, he was united in marriage to Jessie O. Rogers, and to this union two sons were born. Jessie passed away in December of 1996. On January 2, 1999, he married Freda Brown, and together they shared six years before her passing in June of 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billy G. Pieratt; two brothers, James and Richard Pieratt; and two sisters, Devona Cox, and Eula Mendel. Carl is survived by a son, James L. Pieratt, and his wife, Sharon, of LaGrange, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Judy Pieratt, of LaGrange, Indiana; six grandchildren, Lisa Bishop, Craig Pieratt, and his wife, Holly, Gary Pieratt, and his wife, Karen, Susan Jackson, Jean Krahulec, and her husband, Mark, and Jill Pieratt, all of the state of Indiana; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Parker, Kansas area. Early in his life he moved to Idaho, during the great depression, and worked as a forester. He then traveled extensively in search of work for the next several years. After he and Jessie were married, they made their home in Wisconsin before moving to Indiana in 1942. Carl and Jessie owned and operated a farm in Indiana for many years, and lovingly raised their sons. In 1978, they retired and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. Carl had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Freedom Church of Christ. He was a hardworking farmer and also did woodworking later in his life, having built four houses. During his retirement years, he greatly enjoyed fishing. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Carl was a loving father, and grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the Freedom Church of Christ and may be made through the funeral home.
