Carol Gibson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Carol Sue Gibson was born August 25, 1938 in Lebanon, Missouri,
the daughter of Ethan Elmore and Opal Lambeth Elmore. She departed this
life Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her family. She
was eighty-five years, eleven months and two days of age.
Carol grew up in Lebanon and attended Lebanon Schools, graduating
in the class of 1956. On May 10, 1957, Carol was united in marriage to
Kyle Gibson. Together they have experienced love and happiness for over
sixty-seven years, while enduring the challenging times of life.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Keith
Elmore; and her sister, Betty Waggoner.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kyle; two daughters, Kyra
Crabtree and her husband Richard of Lebanon, Missouri and Teresa
Esparza of Springfield, Missouri; her sister, Marilyn Vernon and her
husband Bob of Avon, Connecticut; three grandchildren, Nick Crabtree and
his wife Cambria, Natalie Oursbourn and her husband Chris and Carolyn
Esparza; four great-grandchildren; Beckham Crabtree, Ansley Oursbourn,
Archer Crabtree and Ellie Oursbourn; and many other family members and
friends.
Carol began her working career at Bishop Furniture. She then
obtained her real estate license and was a realtor before joining Commerce
Bank. She retired as vice-president of Commerce Bank.
Carol was a longtime member of Phillipsburg Christian Church. She
loved God and her family has the joy of knowing she is with her Heavenly
Father.
She loved spending time at their lake house and being out on the
lake with her family. She also was proud of her beautiful flower beds and
enjoyed being outdoors. Other hobbies included square dancing and
traveling with her husband, Kyle.
Most of all, Carol loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. They were the light of her life and she enjoyed every
moment she could spend with them.
Throughout her life, Carol was known for her unwavering dedication
to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted mother, and
cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of
warmth, love, and laughter, where countless memories were created and
treasured. We celebrate her life and know the memories she made with
family, friends and co-workers will be cherished and shared for years to
come.
