Carol J. Henderson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Carol Joyce Henderson, daughter of Carl and Jessie Nelson Kvistad, was born May 8, 1934, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. She departed this life Monday, April 8, 2013, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, and eleven months.
On October 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Floyd Earl Henderson, and they shared fifty-three years before his passing on November 17, 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Michael Climer; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Carol is survived by three sons, Ron Storberg, of Akron, Ohio, Randy Storberg, and his wife, Vicki, of Richland, Missouri, and Floyd D. Henderson, and his wife, Janet, of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Roxie Barber, and her husband, Bruce, Ruby Climer, and her husband, Gene, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Judy Koopman and Rick Beron, of Rockland, Wisconsin; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Phillip Kvistad, and his wife, Sylvia, of Sparta, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Wisconsin, and met her husband there. After she and Floyd were married, they made their home in various locations while Floyd served in the United States Army. They lived in Germany, and at Fort Bennings, Georgia, Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Polk, Louisiana, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. During these years, Carol was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and was a supportive military wife. When Floyd retired, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
Carol enjoyed attending the Cowboy Church in Branson, Missouri.
In her spare time she liked camping and loved to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed making trips to see the shows in Branson, Missouri, and attending the Ozark Hills Theater in Lebanon and the Country Corral in Stoutland. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
