Carol Jacobsen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ruth Carol Jacobsen, daughter of Earl E. and Juanita H. Green Hicks, was born November 23, 1945, in Conway, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, February 16, 2018, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, two months, and twenty-four days.
She was united in marriage to Loyal A. Jacobsen, who passed away on January 31, 2017.
She was also preceded in death by her father; a brother, Everett L. Hicks; and a sister, Joan Riddell.
Carol is survived by her mother, Juanita Hicks, of Conway, Missouri; two sons, Steven Kennedy, of Marble Falls, Texas, and Kevin Kennedy, and his wife, Amanda, of Cumming, Georgia; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Hicks, and Robert Hicks, both of Conway, Missouri; two sisters, Connie Miller, and her husband, Kerry, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Sue Medling, and her husband, Don, of Laveen, Arizona; a number of nieces and nephews; several cousins, including, Billy Lee Green, of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, and Darlene Shrader, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Conway, Missouri area, and graduated from Conway High School in the Class of 1964. She then lived most of her adult years in the Kansas City, Missouri area, where she worked at the Parking Spot for several years. Carol was also a devoted homemaker to her husband and sons. Later in her life, she returned to Conway and made her home.
Carol attended the Morgan Baptist Church in her early years.
She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs, and loved her favorite recording artist, George Jones. She possessed a quiet disposition, and was rather reserved, but loved visiting with her family and friends. She also greatly liked time with her family.
Carol was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Memorial contributions to St. Judes Childrens Hospital may be made through the funeral home.
