Carol Elaine Modlin (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Carol Elaine Modlin, daughter of the late Glen Raymond and Elsie Mae (Allen) Ellington, was born on December 4, 1947 in Wood River, Illinois, and departed this life on May 4, 2020 at her home in Urbana, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 72 years, four months, and 29 days of age.
Carol was raised and attended school in San Diego, California, and graduated form Kearny High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to Donald Duane Modlin on November 26, 1966, and to this union three children were born, all of whom survive her. She raised their three children in San Diego County, where she managed a Burger King and later a Famous Footwear Store. She retired shortly after working for the California Department of Transportation for two years. After retirement, they moved to Urbana, Missouri in September of 2000.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Donald of the home; her three children, George Glem and wife Gigi Modlin, April Lynn and husband Anthony Middleton, and Glenna Gail and husband Lucas Shane Shock; and six grandchildren, Sarah Surilla Young, Macala Mae Middleton, Hayden Parker Modlin, Waylon Shane Shock, Morgan Elaine Shock, and Sky Jolie Modlin. She also leaves other family members and friends who will all truly miss her.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Urbana with Pastor Alan Perkins officiating. Services are under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Urbana.
