Carol Sue Tuckness (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Carol Sue (Burnett) Tuckness, 81, of Willard, Missouri, passed away suddenly on June 24, 2026 at Mercy Hospital. Born on June 15, 1945, in Springfield, Missouri, Carol lived a life filled with creativity, kindness, and deep devotion to those she loved. A graduate of Central High School, she married Terry Tuckness of Buffalo, Missouri, and together they built a family that remained the center of her world. Carol was a devoted mother to her two sons, Scott Tuckness (Kimberly) and Christopher Tuckness (Allyson). She was a proud grandmother to Tyler Tuckness (Renu), Kylie Valentine (Grey), Dawson Tuckness, Mason Tuckness, and Dylan Tuckness, and was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother to Sammy Tuckness. Nothing brought Carol more happiness than sharing stories and photographs of her grandchildren and great-grandchild with everyone she met. An avid painter, Carol created beautiful landscape paintings that will continue to be treasured by her family and friends for generations to come. Her artistic talent captured the beauty she saw in the world around her. She also had a lifelong love for animals, especially horses and dogs, which brought her endless companionship and joy. Carol never met a stranger. Her warm smile, friendly spirit, and genuine interest in others allowed her to make friends wherever she went. Whether through conversation, laughter, or a story shared, she had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and valued. Carol’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at Charity Christian Church (M, 149 Elkland Rd, Elkland, MO 65644) on Thursday, July 2 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to either Friends of the Zoo of Springfield MO or Habitat for Humanity Springfield MO.
