Carolyn Cunningham's Obituary
Carolyn Denise Cunningham, daughter of Van Cunningham, Jr. and Dora Jones Cunningham, was born May 5, 1961, at Waynesville, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, February 5, 2011, in her home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of forty-nine years, and nine months.
She was preceded in death by one niece, and one nephew.
Carolyn is survived by a daughter, Pathreecia Cunningham, and Joseph, of the home; a son, Joshua Adams, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kenshay, Jumoke, Jacoby, Dream, Tierney, Jaden, Tori, and Jacob; her mother, Dora Greene, of St. Robert, Missouri; her father, Van Cunningham, Jr., of Clarksdale, Mississippi; two brothers, Clifton Cunningham, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Van Cunningham, III, of Carson, California; five sisters, Stephanie Holt, of Webster Groves, Missouri, Shanlanda Hill, of St. Robert, Missouri, Sherry Moore, of Kansas City, Missouri, Vannessa Arnett, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Beverly Greene, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Fort Leonard Wood area and graduated from Waynesville High School. While in high school she participated in track and field events. She then worked for a time at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. For most of her life she lived in the Waynesville community and was a devoted homemaker to her family. In 1999, she moved to the Lebanon area and made her home.
Carolyn had attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon.
She was an excellent cook and was particularly known for her delicious pies. She greatly enjoyed family gatherings and loved having her family around her. Everyone loved and admired her. Her home was always open to her family and friends.
Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
