Carolyn S. Dowden (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Carolyn Sue Dowden of Lebanon, Missouri passed away Monday evening, May 8, 2023, in her mother’s home near Sleeper, Missouri. She was born December 2, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas to Robert Lee Moss and Daisy Young Moss.
Carolyn was raised in Edwardsville, Kansas and graduated high school in Edwardsville. Following graduation, she went to work as a teacher at a daycare, as well as worked in a nursing home. She then moved to Goldblatt Tool Company where she worked before moving to Lebanon, Missouri where she was manager of 4 Rivers Home Care.
On October 9, 1999, Carolyn was united in marriage to Tim Dowden and they had one daughter, Lyly. She was the joy of their lives and Carolyn quit working to raise and homeschool Lyly.
Above all, Carolyn loved God and was a Christian. She was saved at the age of twelve at her church in Kansas City. After moving to the Lebanon area., she attended Sleeper Pentecostal Church and was baptized at Grace Calvary Full Gospel Church. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
You always saw Carolyn with a smile on her face. Despite her health concerns, she had joy in her heart and a smile to spread joy to others.
She enjoyed reading, she loved animals, especially cats, and bird watching.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Robert Moss; and two infants.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Dowden of Lebanon, Missouri; her mother, Daisy Moss of Sleeper, Missouri; her daughter, Lyly Dowden of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Donald Herren and his wife, Stacy of Knoxville, Arkansas and Kenneth Moss of Lebanon, Missouri; and ten nieces and nephews, Amber, Britney, Nicole, Erica, Brandon, A.J., Kassidy, Stephanie, Angie and Justin; and her church family and friends.
Carolyn lived a life that honored Christ and her walk with Him. She left a legacy to be treasured by her family and friends.
