Carolyn Sue Stewart (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Carolyn S. Stewart, daughter of Clarence Chastain and Irene Pope Chastain, was born October 10, 1949 in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Lebanon North Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 70 years, six months and 24 days.
On October 5, 1973, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Stewart and to this union, one son and one daughter were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died July 27, 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Stewart of Lebanon; a son, Kenneth Stewart of Lebanon; and six grandchildren, Cody Burgess, Kyle Burgess, Brandon Burgess, Emily Burgess, Ashley Burgess and Breana Douglass.
Carolyn was born in Lebanon, but spent her early years in Kansas City, Missouri. She eventually returned to Lebanon where she lived the rest of her life. She worked at Justice Furniture for a few years and was a homemaker. Her love for her family was obvious to all and she enjoyed spending time with them. Her heart was also with God and enjoyed worshiping at Grace Calvary Church in Lebanon. She had a lovely voice and would many times play the guitar or piano for her family, friends, and her church. She also taught Sunday School and was a steadfast Christian and strong in her convictions to her Christian faith.
In addition to music, she enjoyed painting and writing poetry. She was simply a lovely person and a joy to spend time with. She will be so very missed by her family and friends and her church.
Graveside services for Carolyn S. Stewart will be held Thursday, May 7 at 2 p.m. at Mount Rose Memorial Park with Rev. James Hicks officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, May 6, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home from 6 - 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.
