Born and raised in the Seymour area Misty, as she was known, loved the closeness of her family and friends. She received a BSN from Baylor School of Nursing in 1973 and then assisted the Seymour R-II School District as school nurse for many years. Over the years she helped in local hospitals, stayed home to raise her youngest son and used her skills as a nurse to care for her family and neighbors. She enjoyed attending Seymour Nazarene and fondly remembered her times at the Lone Star Church of Seymour.
Misty never met a stranger, her quick wit and contagious laugh made others feel like old friends. Her strong heart gave her the will to carry on during the hard times. Even after battling breast cancer and a stroke, she still took the time to care for others. Her family was her heart and she adored the time she spent with them. The small things in life brought great joy; fish fries, country music and a good book were her favorite pastimes.
Carolyn Sue Johnson Richardson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, niece, sister and a caring neighbor and friend. Misty will be remembered for the loving care and comfort she gave to anyone that needed a helping hand. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for each of us.
