Casey Walker (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Harold “Casey” Edward Walker, 84 years of age, of Fair Play, Missouri died March 16, 2014, at his home near Fair Play, Missouri after a long battle with cancer. Casey was born December 4, 1929 in Stockton, Missouri, the son of Bill and Hazel Walker. Casey attended grades 1-12 at Bear Creek School in Bear Creek, Missouri.
Casey Walker and Dottie Cornell were married on October 2, 1950 and they were married until Dottie’s death in December 1987. On May 9, 1991 Casey and Barbara Sands were united in marriage.
Casey served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Casey was a farmer, worked for the Corp of Engineers, and served as a Polk County Deputy for the Polk County Sheriff’s office from 1983 until 1988 and worked part-time there until 1991. Casey attended First Assembly of God in Bolivar and Harvest Assembly in Fair Play for many years. Casey specifically asked that a thank you be personally acknowledged to his neighbors, Wallace Taylor of Fair Play and Frank Ho-Gland of Fair Play, for their many acts of kindness and labors of love to he and Barbara during his illness. You have been a God send to our family and we thank you.
Casey is preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Walker; his parents Bill Walker and Hazel Hamby, Grandson, Michael Walker and granddaughter, Chelsea Walker.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Walker of the home; one daughter, Brenda Griggs and husband Dean of Bolivar; four sons, Wayne Walker and wife Connie of Olathe, Kansas; Michael Walker of Arcola, Greg Walker and his wife Myrna of Bolivar, and Billy Walker of Arcola; 10 grandchildren, Christy Ricker, Nicole Smith, Kyle Griggs, Autumn Walker, Dustin Walker, Jennifer Walker, Sarah Evan, Whitney Walker, Hayley Whiteside, Paul Ward, and four great grandchildren, Quinn Ricker, Skyler, Jaylie and Brittan Smith, Mason and Easton Evans, and a host of family and friends.
