Cecil L. Votra (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Cecil Leroy Votra, age 73, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, Missouri.
He was born November 15, 1937 in Peru, Indiana, the son of, Jerry Ray Votra and Rosetta (Huddleston) Votra.
Cecil served in the United States Marine Corp from September of 1957 to March of 1962. He married Delores Ann Neher on September 3, 1967 in Springfield, Tennessee.
He worked in commercial construction and was a greeter at the Bolivar Wal-Mart the past five years.
Cecil was a member of the Hermitage Masonic Lodge #288, the Bolivar Easter Star Chapter #230, the Springfield Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Club, and the American Legion Post of Bolivar, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twelve brothers and sisters, and one son; Jerry Ray Votra.
Cecil is survived by his wife; Delores A. Votra of the home, two sons; Cecil L. Votra, Jr. of New Boston, Texas, Thomas A. Votra and his wife Dawne of Aurora, Missouri, one daughter, Dawn Cash and her husband Eddie of Bolivar, Missouri, and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm Sunday just prior to service time at the funeral home. Mr. Jim Hensley, Mr. David Turner and Mr. George Carson will be speaking. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace" and "A Mansion Over The Hilltop". Per Cecil’s wishes he chose to have cremation.
