Cecil Wayne Truitt (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Cecil Wayne Truitt, age 76 of Bolivar, MO passed away Tuesday Morning at 11:13 AM May 24, 2011 at the Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK
Wayne was born in Collins, MO on September 30, 1934 the son of Cecil Albert Truitt and Opel Phyrene (Martin) Truitt.
He was very active in FFA, an Eagle Scout of Mic-O-Say Tribe #354, a member of the First Baptist Church in Humansville, MO. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Local Operating Engineers Union #101 of Kansas City, MO. Also Wayne was a member of the Stockton Lake Shriners, the Masonic Lodges of Lenexa, KS, Stockton, MO, and Bolivar, MO.
Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family and was always quick with a joke. He also enjoyed gardening, keeping up the yard, driving trucks, traveling and seeing the USA via making money at the same time…hauling wood, tires, boats, just trucking in general.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Opal (Martin) Truitt, sister Joyce Borchardt and grandson Shawn Maloney.
Surviving is his wife Darlene Truitt of the home, Four Daughters, Dianne Truitt of Kansas City, MO; Debbie Anderson of Kansas City, MO; Denise Wheeler and husband Jim of Lone Jack, MO; Tammy Bolen of Fair Play, MO; Brother, Robert Truitt and Sister Shirley Keller of Humansville, MO; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Butler Chapel in Bolivar.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Aaron Schmidt officiating. Musical selections will be “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill, “When I Get To Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton and “I Saw The Light” by Hank Williams. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar. Casketbearers will be Mike Maloney, Robert Edwards, Terry Fenster, Jim Wheeler, Arlo Burnett and Jackie Truitt. Honorary Casketbearers will be Duane King, Claude Chasteen, Charles Bays, Steve Tygart and David Stutenkemper.
