Celia Holt (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Celia Ann (Wheat) Holt passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.
Celia “Sis” was 91 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Lester “Larry” Holt and their eldest daughter Cynthia Marie Holt Wildman. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Caroline Wheat and Mary Virginia Holt Findley and their children; son L. Wayne Holt and wife Claire, daughter Virginia “Ginny” Holt. Three granddaughters Michele Hart, Shawna Hillhouse and husband Chris, and Jerica Holt. Five grandsons, Jared and Jordan Holt, Ben, Daniel, and Allen Sexton, and their spouses, and 17 great grandchildren.
Celia was born on March 27, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri to Retha Louise (Wilson) Wheat and Earl Franklin Wheat. She was the youngest of five children: “Junior”, William, Richard, and Robert Wheat.
Celia married Lawrence “Larry” L. Holt at Grace Methodist Church in Springfield, Missouri on August 26, 1951. They were married for 62 years and 10 months.
In lieu of flowers, Celia requested that donations be made to a charity of your choosing in her honor.
A celebration of Life will be held at the Grace Methodist Church in Buffalo, Missouri in August.
