Charle s' Obituary
Charles Henry Elmore, the youngest child of Henry Reeves and Etta Jane Bentch Elmore, was born April 16, 1935, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, October 30, 2009, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, six months, and fourteen days. On December 21, 1973, he was united in marriage to Bennie Freeman Page, and they shared the last thirty-five years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Emmitt, Wayne, Edward, and Gordon Elmore; a sister, Faye Robertson; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bert and Beulah Freeman. Charles is survived by his wife, Bennie, of the home; a son, Charles Elmore, Jr., of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Deborah Brown, and her husband, Jack, of Lebanon, Missouri, Tammy Garner, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Paula Clark, and her husband, Jim, of Conway, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Phillip, Ashley, Aaron, Tiffany, Melanie, Lindsay, Bethanni, Chuck, Haleigh, Ryan, Sarah, and Sierra; seven great-grandchildren, and one eagerly anticipated in December of 2009; three sisters, Emma Martin, Effie Henson, and Irene Henson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Juanita Freeman, of Buffalo, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Richard Freeman, and his wife, Nell, of Mustang, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Charles worked at various jobs throughout his life, retiring from Tracker Marine after thirteen years. He had professed his faith in Christ and loved his Lord. He was a member of Unity Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon, where he attended regularly as long as his health allowed. His greatest joy was his family. His other interests and hobbies included boating, camping, fishing, and RC cars. Charles was loved by his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted dad, a proud grandpa, and a faithful friend. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday November 2, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday afternoon 3-4:30pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
