Charlene Alice Carter (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Charlene Alice Carter of Lebanon, Missouri was born January 28, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Harold G. Mooneyham and Ann Nora Nelson Mooneyham. She passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026 in Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was seventy-nine years, three months and eight days of age.
Charlene moved with her family to Missouri where she was raised in the Crocker Community. She graduated from Crocker High School and returned to Ohio where she spent most of her adult years.
On October 31, 1988, Charlene was united in marriage to Louis Carter. She followed him in his military career where they lived in Germany for three years. His service also led them to Clarksville, Tennessee where Charlene worked in the administration office at Blanchfield Hospital at Ft. Campbell.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ann.
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-seven years, Louis Carter; three daughters, Elizabeth Haskell and her husband Dan of Lake Michigan, Julie Gerber and her husband Bill of St. Robert, Missouri, and Susan Doyel of Dixon, Missouri; one son, William A. Lahna and his wife Michelle of Clarksville, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie Mooneyham and his wife J.J. of Wheatland, Missouri; and several other relatives and friends.
Charlene loved going to the ocean, playing cards, and taking pictures. She was a talented painter and enjoyed growing plants.
She was a person of faith and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed her church family and fellowship team.
Throughout her life, Charlene was known for her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lebanon.
