Charlene Kennedy (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Alta Charlene (Parker) Kennedy, 82, of Humansville, MO passed away on November 20, 2017 in Ames, IA.
Charlene was born in Flemington, MO to Rufus Cleveland and Mary Nora Parker on February 24, 1935. She worked in Kansas City, MO after graduating from Humansville High School. She married Edsel Kennedy on April 20, 1957 in Kansas City, and kept their family together and thriving during his multiple military deployments and assignments. Charlene devoted her life to raising her children, and being a faithful, life-long companion to her husband as well as being “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel. She is survived by: three children, Kay (Marlin) Rice of Ames, IA; Gary Kennedy of Nevada, IA; and Jim (Robin) Kennedy of Bolivar, MO; two sisters, Wannetta Wente of Kansas City, and Mary Dinisi of Glendora, CA; one brother Robert (Lou) Parker of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Cody (Anna) Rice of Ankeny, IA; William (Meredith) Kennedy of Bois D’Arc, MO; Jeanna (Jon) Gaik of Benton, LA; Jarred (Allie) Kennedy of Springfield, MO; Kendra (Kyle) Verash of South Bend, IN; Sarah (Dallas) Kalber of Huntsville, AL; and Stephanie (Jacob) Wright of Waxahachie, TX; and 10 great-grandchildren (Connor, Mauren, Emrik, Tristin, Oakley, Ezekiel, Richard, Liam, Jackson, and Charlotte).
The memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO.
